Walking Tour to World Trade Center area part V: How to Keep on Living…(Section I)
Today is September 10th, 2021. Tomorrow will the day September 11. I was planning to write about One World Trade Center’s Construction and later development, Opening and post-opening, designs, funding, and other things. But, they’re just some solid information what you can find on the internet. This morning, I changed my mind. I wanted to write something with feelings/ emotions, something that people would like to know because these things can help us to solve problems in real life. So we can live better. As I just read about what architect of One World Trade Center, David Magie Childs saids, “We really wanted our design to be grounded in something that was very real, not just in sculptural sketches. We explored the infrastructural challenges because the proper solution would have to be compelling, not just beautiful. The design does have great sculptural implications, and we fully understand the iconic importance of the tower, but it also has to be a highly efficient building. The discourse about Freedom Tower has often been limited to the symbolic, formal and aesthetic aspects but we recognize that if this building doesn’t function well, if people don’t want to work and visit there, then we will have failed as architects.” It told the truth of problem solving / real life related issues. Because we want to “work and visit” our life, we need some coping skills. Coping skills to over come the pain and lost…
Before I start to writing about how to over come lost and pain for keeping on living, I would like to talk about a news I saw today. It is about two good (I know there is no 100% good or 100% bad)persons who wanted to save other innocent people, but they became the bad people what were created by the true bad ones. If you are the one who can understand what I am trying to say, then I am glad you get it. There are so many similar things happening in our life; our / some people’s eyes are “blind” and hearts are “blind” too. But the most sad part is our / people’s minds are “blind”. The mountains are not mountains no more. And the water is not water no more, either. Just so sad~
There is the article talking about how to over come the lost and pain on the web. It provides a few methods / steps. And I found that they are quite informative. Because it is written in Chinese, I am going to translate it into English as following:
After you lost your loved ones or things, you definitely felt extremely painful. The pain, sadness, old memories, and the questions what still needed answers would always make you suffer. You might feel that you could not go back to the past, you would not feel happy no more, you could not walk out from the pain, and you could not have a perfect whole life. You need to know, in this world, no one can escape from the pain. But there are ways of releasing your pain, and they will make you keep moving on. So just be brave and face it. Even though it take time.
Below is the methods for how to face and over come the lost and pain — —
- Face it; don’t escape. You may find ways to easily calm yourself down, such as using pills, alcohol, sleep, internet, random dating, and other bad habbits. But none of them is good for your health, also, they make you weaker and addicted to tehm. Maybe there is some people who can make you forgether the pain for awhile, in fact, they can not truely heal you. When you are brave enough to face the fact of losing someone you love, and you realize the meaning of losing to you, you will really step out the shadow of the lost. If you ignore the pain, and numb yourself what can get you out of the pain for a very short time, but eventually those pain will take over you. So, facing the fact, you can cry or use other methods to vent the pain inside; but not numb yourself. Only when you get to know your pain, then you can get rid of it.
* When you are experiencing pain, you should pay attention to it. You need to give yourself some time to feel sad, a few days or a week is fine. But please don’t spend too much time on it, otherwise, it will be very difficult for you to get through it.
